We are very pleased to be able to announce a return to live, in-person singing for those who wish to take part. This will be done in a Covid-secure way, with rehearsals taking place in Liverpool (Mondays), and Cheadle Hulme (Wednesdays) initially. We hope to be able to add rehearsals in other areas as soon as possible if these initial rehearsals are successful.
Rehearsals will also be broadcast via YouTube for singers to join in at home, and these videos will be available for people to view throughout the week.
If you wish to join us in this project, singers may join either in-person, online or a mixture of both. Owing to social distancing measures, attendance at rehearsals will be capped to around 30 singers in each venue, so if more than that number wish to take part in person then a rota system will be organised to ensure that everyone who wishes to take part can do so while remaining safe.
For singers who do not wish to travel to rehearsals, they will be able to participate virtually – rehearsals will be streamed live on YouTube – with the videos remaining available on the site for review for the remainder of the week. This of course means that singers from other areas of the country are able to join in via the online method.
First rehearsals will start very soon – Wednesday 28th October in Cheadle Hulme, and Monday 2nd November in Liverpool.
If you are wishing to take part in these rehearsals we would ask that you sign up as soon as possible in order that resources can be produced and dispatched quickly in order to reach you before rehearsals start.
We will sing a mixture of seasonal songs and some good strong company singing numbers, from White Christmas, to Merry Christmas Everybody, to It’s a Grand Night for Singing and Over the Rainbow.
We are currently looking into the possibility of some outside socially distanced performances at the end of this project which will be mid-December. However, due to the ever changing nature of the Coronavirus guidance this may not prove possible. If this is the case, we will ensure that a recording of our final performances will be produced on CD or DVD, which will of course include contributions from singers working at home should they wish to contribute.
In-person: £65.00, including all rehearsal materials posted to your home
Online only: £45.00, including all rehearsal materials posted to your home
We will be able to accept payment by Debit or Credit Card (we aim to have a contactless card machine at the rehearsals), via Bank Transfer, or via Direct Debit. Payment can be made in full, or in three monthly instalments, one of £25.00 followed by two payments of £20.00.
Please use the form at the bottom of the page to sign up, or email firstname.lastname@example.org if you wish to take part. We would be delighted to see (and hear) you again very soon!
Covid-secure singing – please read this very carefully
In order to keep yourselves, and everyone else safe, it is very important that everyone undertakes to follow the coronavirus guidance carefully. In order for in person rehearsals to take place a great deal of work has gone on with many people and organisations across the country working to research the safest ways to participate in the performing arts.
In order to operate safely singers must:
sign up in advance so that numbers of singers can be monitored.
stagger arrivals and departures from rehearsals to avoid mingling with any singers who are not in their own household/bubble.
maintain strict social distancing of at least 2m at all times, particularly when singing.
use hand sanitiser on arrival and departure
maintain accurate records of attendance for NHS test and trace purposes
ensure full risk assessments are undertaken and complied with (these are available on request)
provide adequate sanitising supplies and cleaning materials for each rehearsal venue
If you have any concerns or questions about the covid secure procedures, please do not hesitate to email us and we will do our best to assist you.
